Carson, CA -- Cal State Dominguez Hills seniors
Cindy Perry-Brown (Victorville, CA/Silverado HS) and Kate
Groden (San Pedro, CA/San Pedro HS/SE Missouri Univ.), along
with junior Kristine Minter (Chula Vista, CA/Hampton
University) and sophomore Amy Thomas (Barstow, CA/Barstow
HS) all appear amongst the NCAAs statistical elite
through games played as of April 23, it was announced earlier by
the NCAA.
Individually, Perry-Brown moved up to 11th in
the nation with 0.85 stolen bases per game and enters at No. 27th
in runs scored per contest at 1.13. Groden moved up to 16th with
0.39 doubles per game, and is at 17th in RBIs per game with 1.22 a
contest. In the circle, two Toros hurlers appear in the top 30,
with Thomas 1.11 ERA placing her at 23rd, followed by
Minter, who comes in 29th with a 1.16 ERA.
As a team, the Toros 35-6 mark as of
April 23 ranks 7th in win-loss percentage at 85%, while their 1.28
ERA chimes in 12th, and is followed by a 22nd-place showing in
stolen bases, averaging 2.12 swipes per contest.
The Toros, currently the NFCAs 6th-ranked
team and NCAAs 2nd-seed in the West Region, conclude their
regular season home schedule this weekend as they host Sonoma
State on Friday, April 28, followed by a possible NCAA post-season
preview against the defending Far West Region Champion and No.
19-ranked San Francisco State Gators on Saturday, April 29, when
CSUDH honors its eight seniors on Senior Day.
