Panteau, Graham Bring Home CCAA Titles As Toros Place 4th Overall at CCAA Track & Field Championships

La Jolla, CA – April Panteau (Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Community College) brought home the CCAA title in the 200-meter dash and finished runner-up in the 400-meter dash, while teammate Evelyn Graham (San Diego CA/Carson HS) took the CCAA title in the 400-meter hurdles as CSUDH placed 4th overall out of nine teams on the final day of the 2006 CCAA Track & Field Championships, hosted by UC San Diego.

Panteau would blaze the track in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.66, over a half second ahead of her competition, and then proceed to grab a second place finish in the 400-meter dash in a time of 55.72.

After qualifying fourth yesterday, Graham would drop over two and a half seconds off her time, finishing the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 62.18 to take the title.

On the day, CSUDH runners would post 10 top-five finishes.

• 100-meter dash: Grace Fitchett (2nd, 12.19), Meia Tezeno (3rd, 12.28), Shammeer Dawson (5th, 12.36), Deborah Bowser (7th, 12.46)
• 400-meter dash: April Panteau (2nd, 55.72)
• 100-meter hurdles: Grace Fitchett (2nd, 14.13), Alexandria Anderson (3rd, 14.20)
• 400-meter hurdles: Alexandria Anderson (4th, 63.58)
• 4 x 400-meter relay: (3rd, 3:53.02)

CSUDH will have one last tune-up before the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Toros will compete in the Occidental Invite on Saturday, May 13, hosted by Occidental College.
