Carson, CA -- Junior Zach Jones (Los
Alamitos, CA/University of Hawai'i-Hilo) fired an 11-over 151
over the first two rounds of play to end day one tied for 42nd at
the 57th SoCal Intercollegiate Championship, hosted by UC San
Diego and played at Marbella Country Club.
Jones fired a 6-over 76 after the first 18
holes, and cut one stroke off his afternoon total to give him a
151 after the first day of competition. Sonoma State's Jarin Todd
and West Florida's Matthew Galloway both shot 70 and 66 to forge a
two-way tie for the top spot, while 4th-ranked West Florida leads
the tournament with a 555 total, ahead of second place St. Edwards
at 571. Barry, Sonoma State and Western New Mexico round out the
top five.
