The CSU tradition of teaching excellence lies
at the heart of the university experience for Dominguez Hills
students. Currently maintaining an overall 21:1 student-faculty
ratio, students receive the personal attention that enhances
learning. Academic programs include business and public
administration, the natural sciences, health sciences, education,
and the liberal arts and humanities.
The University provides both bachelor's and

activities outside of the classroom. Student housing is just steps
from the center of campus which features fully furnished apartment
living. Located at the crossroads of the campus, the Loker
University Student Union provides a lively center for university
life, including a variety of food services, a well-stocked
bookstore and facilities for campus events and activities. The
Office of Activities puts students in touch with a multitude of
student clubs and organizations, including cultural,
departmental/professional, recreation/sports, religious,
honor/service organizations as well as fraternities and
sororities.
The University Theatre features a full season
of arts and entertainment including plays, concerts, lectures and
special events. The University Art Gallery also showcases some of
the finest California art as well as national and international
exhibitions.
A plethora of resources are available to the
campus community including several student computer labs equipped
with Pentium computers providing access to the Internet and
student e-mail accounts. The University Library houses an
extensive book collection, microfilms, periodicals and
computerized data base services available for the student. The
campus also boasts a state of the art Student Health Center,
Multicultural Center, Women's Center and Older-Adult Center.
The CSUDH Athletics Department sponsors 10
intercollegiate athletic team's that compete at the NCAA Division
II level. The school fields men's teams in soccer, basketball,
baseball and golf while the women's sports include volleyball,
cross-country, soccer, basketball, softball and indoor/outdoor
track & field. Cal State Dominguez Hills is a member of the
California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) with other
member schools Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State
Chico, Cal State LA, Cal State San Bernardino, Cal State
Stanislaus, Grand Canyon University, San Francisco State, Sonoma
State, UC Davis and UC San Diego. No other conference in the
nation has earned more NCAA Division II Championships than the
CCAA.
