| Art Department Faculty Showcased in Exhibition Opening October 1
“The World In Their Eyes: Art Department Faculty Artists,” an exhibition featuring 70 works of art in varied media by 12 California State University, Dominguez Hills Art Department faculty members will open on Wednesday, Oct. 1 in the University Art Gallery, continuing through Thursday, Oct. 30.
Included in the exhibit will be the faculty artists Bernard Baker, Michele Bury, Elaine Brandt, Dave Bondi, Vladimir Goryachev, Gilah Yelin Hirsch, Louise H. Ivers, Jim Keville, Nicola Lamb, David Parsons, John Lionel Pierce and Bonnie Tanaka. Highlights will include Hirsch’s jewel-like visionary paintings, Goryachev’s expressionistic figurative sculptures, and Bury’s elegant graphics. For images of the exhibit, click here.
An opening reception for the artists will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the University Art Gallery. As part of the evening, faculty members will talk about their work beginning at 6 p.m. The exhibition and related events are sponsored by the Instructionally Related Activities Committee of the Associated Students, Inc.
Open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, the University Art Gallery is in A-107 on the first floor of LaCorte Hall. Admission is free.
