The Association of Political Science Students at California State University, Dominguez Hills hopes to encourage
students' newfound enthusiasm for politics during a historic election year with the new “Meet Your Local
Representative/Foreign Dignitary” program, which takes students out of the classroom with a first-hand look at
the careers of local policymakers and how they got to where they are today.

Research Society. Founded in 1886, the nonprofit organization has a membership of approximately 60,000 scientists
and engineers who are elected to Sigma Xi because of their achievements or potential in research. More than 500
chapters of Sigma Xi are at universities and colleges, government laboratories and industry research centers.
In addition to publishing American Scientist, Sigma Xi awards grants annually
to promising young researchers, holds forums on critical issues and sponsors a variety of programs supporting the
sciences in engineering, education, policy and public understanding.
