TV Personality and Political Activist Bill Rosendahl
to Offer Course On “Media and Politics” at
California State University, Dominguez Hills Spring Term 2004

CARSON, Calif. – Nationally syndicated television personality and political activist Bill Rosendahl will teach a course on “Media and Politics” this spring at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) in Carson. Rosendahl’s more than 3,000 televised public affairs programs have been seen in over 7 million California homes, and were also syndicated in nine other states.

Rosendahl, most recently vice president for political affairs at Adelphia Communications, based in Santa Monica, joins CSUDH as a distinguished lecturer in the Department of Communications, and will also serve as a consultant on community relations to the Division of University Advancement.

The 3-unit class will be offered on Thursday evenings, beginning Jan. 29, from 7 to 10 p.m., and will feature prominent guest speakers from the worlds of government, as well as a unique series of televised public affairs forums transmitted live from the university campus.

Currently, Rosendahl serves as chairman of the California State Commission on Tax Policy in the New Economy. The commission, responsible for developing strategies to restructure the state’s taxation policies, will make its report to the Governor and the Legislature in early 2004.

His prior political experience includes service in three presidential campaigns, plus gubernatorial and senatorial campaigns in California. President Jimmy Carter appointed him chief of operations for the U.S. Trade and Development program at the Department of State.

Enrollment in “Media and Politics” is open to CSUDH students and members of the public.

CSUDH students may reserve a space by calling the Communications Department at (310) 243-3313. This course is also cross-listed in Political Science and Interdisciplinary Studies, and may be taken for credit in those departments as well.

Members of the public are welcome to enroll in “Media and Politics” through Open University by calling (310) 243-3741. Academic credit earned through Open University may be applied toward a degree after an individual has applied and is admitted to the university.
