Media Advisory Former Whitewater Defendant McDougal Discusses Book discussion and signing at California State University, Dominguez Hills CARSON, Calif. – After spending nearly two years in prison for refusing to implicate then president Bill Clinton, Susan McDougal will examine her role in this historic era in U.S. history, during a special discussion of her book, The Woman Who Wouldn’t Talk: Why I Refused to Testify Against the Clintons, on Monday, March 8, at 7 p.m. in the Loker University Student Union at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). McDougal will sign copies of her book following the discussion. WHO: Susan McDougal, former defendant for the Clintons during the Whitewater
Investigation During a time when Bill and Hillary Clinton were facing increased scrutiny by independent White House counsel Ken Starr for their role in the now infamous land deal known as “Whitewater,” McDougal rose to prominence for what she did not do as opposed to what she did. In part to avoid the possibility of committing perjury during the “Whitewater” investigation, McDougal decided to remain silent and subsequently altered the efforts by Starr to implicate Bill and Hillary Clinton. McDougal has served her time behind bars and is now revealing the details of the conditions for women in the nation’s prison system. She also is disclosing intimate details of her recollections of Ken Starr and the entire investigation. Admission to the discussion and book signing is free. Parking tickets for
this event can be purchased for $2 from the yellow dispenser located at the
entrance to the CSDUH parking lot at the intersection of Victoria Street and
Tamcliff Ave. For more information, call Robyn McGee at (310) 243-2486. # # #
