Carson-Dominguez Hills Symphony Offers Free Performance May 8
Highlights will include pieces from several popular operas and musicals
Carson, CA— The Carson-Dominguez Hills Symphony Orchestra will give a free performance at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 13, in the 450-seat, professionally equipped University Theatre on campus. The performance, “From Carmen to Phantom,” will be highlights from popular operas and musicals.
The performance will feature baritone Michael Paul Smith; mezzo-soprano Brandi Samuels; The Filipinas Chorale USA, directed by Sister Marie Vincent Llamzon; and The Cherubs, directed by Geri Neri.
The program features excerpts from “Carmen,” “La Traviata,” “Man of La Mancha,” “Sound of Music,” “Oklahoma,” “South Pacific,” “The King and I,” and “Phantom of the Opera.” Hector Salazar will be the guest conductor.
Parking is also free.
The University Theatre Complex is just east of Toro Center Drive between parking lots 3 and 6. Lots 3 and 6 are accessible from the Tamcliff Street-Toro Center Drive entrance from East Victoria Street, which is off Avalon Boulevard between the 91 and 405 freeways, and accessible from the 190th Street exit from the 110 Freeway. The University is at 1000 East Victoria Street.
