MEDIA ADVISORY: Author to sign book on Américo Paredes
Carson, CA-Author Jóse R. López Morín, associate professor of Chicana/o Studies at California State
University, Dominguez Hills, will hold a book signing for his book on Américo Paredes, a seminal figure
in Mexican American studies.

WHAT: Book signing by author Jóse R. López Morín of his recently published book, “The Legacy of Americo Paredes,”
(Texas A&M University Press Consortium/Aggies Books)
WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m.
WHERE: At California State University, Dominguez Hills, La Corte Hall, Room A-103
PARKING: Present press credentials at the kiosk on Dominguez Hills Parkway for a parking pass
DIRECTIONS: CSU Dominguez Hills is at 1000 East Victoria Street, on the east side of Alondra Boulevard between the
91 and 405 freeways. Also, the 190th Street exit from the southbound 110 freeway becomes East Victoria Street east
of the 110 freeway. Enter at Tamcliff Street-Toro Center Drive off E. Victoria (between Alondra and Central Avenue),
immediately turn left at Dominguez Hills Parkway, proceed about 150 yards to the kiosk. Then go back to Toro Center
Drive, turn left, and proceed to Lot 3 or Lot 6, both on the right side of Toro Center Drive. The La Corte Hall
building is across Toro Center Drive from Lot 6.
