MEDIA ADVISORY: Unusual Cast of Characters for ‘Eden’
WHAT: The unusual cast members for the upcoming CSU Dominguez Hills play “A House Named Eden.”
This original play is based on a year of research on the city and interviews with countless Carson
residents of all walks of life.

It was written by nationally acclaimed playwright José Cruz González.

WHO: Former Carson Mayor and co-founder of California State University, Dominguez Hills Gil Smith;
current Carson Mayor Pro-tem Julie Ruiz-Raber; Carson Sister Cities Association co-founder Marcelino
Ignes; Carson Light Opera Director Vivien McClure; former Carson High School Dean of Students Karen
Dabney-Lieras; CSUDH Honors Program Director Joyce Johnson; and CSUDH Academic Affairs Event Scheduling
and Planning Director Loretta Adikhai all have parts in “A House Named Eden.”
WHEN: The production will open on October 20 at 8 p.m. in the 450-seat University Theatre. Other performances
will be at 8 p.m. October 21, 27 and 28, and at 2 p.m. on October 29.
