(Carson, CA)— A college
fair featuring all 23 California State University campuses will
be hosted by California State University, Dominguez Hills from
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9.
During Super Saturday, prospective students and their parents
will have an opportunity to meet with representatives of CSU campuses
in the Southern California region, as well as obtain information
from all other campuses. The day will also include information
sessions on such topics as the college application and admissions
process, housing, financial aid, course requirements, and collegiate
life. There will also be live entertainment, refreshments and raffle
prizes, include a scholarship for one lucky student.
This is the second annual Super Saturday, which was designed to
reach out to minority populations that have traditionally been
underrepresented in higher education. The CSU partners with community
groups in this effort. However, all families interested in learning
about college are encouraged to attend.
CSU officials believe that outreach efforts like Super Saturday
help plant the seeds early on of the importance of education and
show families that college is a reality for their children.
The event is free. Guests are asked to park in Lot 3, off Victoria
Street at Tamcliff.
To RSVP (optional) or for more information, call (562) 951-4818,
