Barrington Hunt: A Healthy Dose
of Networking

Barrington Hunt, lecturer, Health Sciences, attended the Annual Banquet Celebration of the American Society for Public Administration held at the Los Angeles City Hall on Jan. 31. Hunt, who is the Limited English Proficiency Adminstrator of Community Health Services, Los Angeles County Public Health, served as a networking contact for members and graduate students interested in careers in health care management.

and Tobago

Cynthia Johnson, associate professor and William Whetstone, professor, School of Nursing, co-authored an article titled, “Assessing Transcultural Attitudes Towards Diabetes in Trinidad,” which was published in the December 2005 issue of the Journal of the National Black Nurses Association.

Raoul Freeman: Professor
Re-elected to Chair L.A. County Information Systems Commission

Raoul Freeman, professor and chair, Information Systems, has been re-elected as chairman of the Information Systems Commission of Los Angeles county. The commission provides counsel to the County's information technology activities, which have an annual budget in excess of $700 million. Freeman is the only academic professional who serves on the commission, and has been elected chairman for 11 consecutive years.

Louise Ivers: Professor's View of Local Architecture Honored by Long Beach Heritage

Long Beach Heritage will bestow a 2006 Merit Award on Louise Ivers, professor and chair of the California State University, Dominguez Hills Visual Arts Department, at its Preservation Awards Benefit and Silent Auction on Feb. 16 in the Queen Mary’s Grand Salon. The award is for Ivers’ photographs and publications on Long Beach architecture.
