Committee Named to Search for New Dominguez Hills President

The California State University Board of Trustees Chair Roberta Achtenberg named the members of the Trustees’ Selection Committee to conduct the search for a new president of the CSU Dominguez Hills campus to succeed retiring President James E. Lyons Sr. Lyons, who has served as president of Dominguez Hills since 1999, recently announced his plans to retire from the university at the end of the academic year.

A grant from they the National Historical Records and Publications Commission of the National Archives, has enabled a year-long project to make photographs and documents from the CSU Dominguez Hills Department of Archives and Special Collections accessible online.

Greg Smith Memorial Garden Will Commemorate Professor's Love of Nature and Activism

June Burlingame Smith describes the Greg Smith Memorial Garden as her late husband’s idea, for the Dominguez Hills community to have “a place where they can enjoy quiet contemplation and appreciate nature.” The CSUDH professor of geography from 1968 to 1992, championed environmental causes in his community of San Pedro and throughout Los Angeles County.
