The Loker Student Union at CSU Dominguez Hills reopened on Thursday, Jan. 25, with a celebratory ribbon cutting that was attended by the campus community, local dignitaries, and Katherine B. Loker, a longtime friend and supporter of the University. She and her late husband, Donald P. Loker, the facility’s namesakes, were instrumental in establishing the original LSU fund raising campaign in 1968, and her $4 million gift was instrumental to the new expansion.

Storyboards created by Natasa Christodoulidou’s marketing students depict the relationship between the Home Depot Center’s world class sports facility and the world class education available at CSU Dominguez Hills. The assistant professor of business management guided her students in a semester-long project with the goal of developing concepts to be produced as an
advertising campaign for the two entities.

CSUDH presents “Intimate Apparel,” a story of African Americans in turn-of-the-century New York City and their determination to find love and happiness. Written by Lynn Nottage, the play has won several national
awards, including the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Play of 2004.

“The Artist Revealed,” an exhibition on loan from the Syracuse University Art Collection, opens on Feb. 8 in the University Art Gallery, bringing together paintings, sculpture, and other media that examine artists’ self-portraits as well as their portrayals of other artists, actors, writers and musicians.
