CSUDH students explore their peers' work at Student Research Day in November; caption below

Danielle Lehman: Three Chords and the Truth

Sophomore Danielle Lehman (Digital Media Arts) is a member of a new generation of “throwbacks,” a term usually assigned to those who came of age in the 1960s. Her love of music from the 1980s, including punk rock, and her ambition to become a producer of local artists in her native Orange County have found a place to grow at CSUDH. A founding member of her own band, The Black Dots, Lehman flexes her musical muscles as a DJ on the campus Internet radio station, KDHR.

Photo above: Senior Pernell Jones (Health Sciences) presented one of two best overall poster presentations at the CSUDH Student Research Day last November. Jones, pictured at far right, did his research on "Gender Attitudes of Condom Use among Sexually Active South African 8th Graders" while studying in Cape Town, South Africa last summer, and presented his findings with the help of his faculty mentor, Vanessa Parker, assistant professor of health sciences.
