Opening Doors: 2007 President's Dinner Celebrates Campus Supporters and Scholarships

Interim President Boice Bowman will welcome the CSU Dominguez Hills
community to the 2007 President’s Dinner to Benefit Scholarships on Friday, April 28, beginning at 6 p.m. The event will be held for the first time in its eight year history in the university’s Loker Student Union Ballroom, with the theme, “Opening Doors,” to be celebrated with special guests who are being honored by the university.

Festival of Tibet: Official Biographer of the Dalai Lama is Guest of Honor

On Tuesday, May 1, CSUDH, in association with the Tibetan Association of Southern California, will present the Festival of Tibet on its campus. The festival will include film screenings, performances, food and information about the central Asian country that has been under Chinese occupation for nearly 50 years. Ngawangthondup Narkyid, Consultant for Tibetan Language and Literature in the Office of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, will be the guest of honor.

Douglass-Bethune Graduation Celebration Focuses on Achievement and Family

The CSUDH 12th Annual Frederick Douglass and Mary McLeod Bethune Graduation Celebration will take place on Friday, May 11, at the Home Depot Center Tennis Stadium. This year’s theme, “Renewing our Past to Build our Future,” will be celebrated with traditional dances, awards of recognition both to and from graduating students, and the installation of a new member into the Fannie Lou Hamer Queen Mother Society.

"Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" Opens in University Theatre April 20

The CSU Dominguez Hills Department of Theatre Arts announces its last play of the 2006-07 season. Tennessee Williams's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” will open in the University Theatre on April 20 and continue through April 28. Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. There also will be a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 29.

Phi Kappa Phi Welcomes CSUDH's Largest Class of New Initiates

On March 15, the California State University, Dominguez Hills chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi added 136 students and 18 faculty, staff and alumni to its membership for 2007,the largest initiation since the chapter was established in 1984.

The CSUDH Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding Affinity Association will hold its 9th Annual Networking Conference on Tuesday, April 24 in the Loker Student Union. Speakers from a variety of fields
will present this year’s theme, “Stakeholders in Action Reframing the Adversary to a Handshaker” to the community, including students from Golden West College
and local high schools.
