Scholars Give Thanks to CSUDH Community for Academic Support

The 2007 President’s Dinner to Benefit Scholarships will take place on April 28, celebrating CSUDH students and the support they have received from the campus community, especially their scholarship
donors. The evening’s theme, “Opening Doors,” reflects opportunities given to scholarship recipients, many of whom must work around financial needs and familial
responsibility to excel in their studies.

New
Biology Students Accepted to Summer Research Training Programs

Seniors Julissa Castaneda, Onyeka Uzomah, and Sylvia Bonilla were accepted to participate in the Los Angeles Basin-California State University Minority Health and Health Disparities International Research Training (MHIRT) Program funded by the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities, National Institutes of Health. Also, senior Erick Medina was accepted into the UCLA National Science Foundation Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate Summer Research Scholars program, funded by an NSF grant.
