DH Sports Lounge Brings Food and Fun to the Table
The DH Sports Lounge in the expanded Loker Student Union gives students, faculty and staff an oasis on campus to enjoy a meal, have a beer, take in a televised soccer game or just hang out with friends. The lounge is also helping to build a bridge to the neighboring Home Depot Center, which serves as home to two Major League Soccer teams, the L.A. Galaxy and Chivas USA.
According to Richard Chester, director of commercial services, both teams are hoping to promote the lounge as an official venue for road games and have contributed sports memorabilia to add authenticity to the restaurant’s décor.
“The interest in the addition of our Sports Lounge from both Chivas USA and the L.A. Galaxy has been outstanding,” he says. “With additional marketing and promotion during games at The Home Depot Center, we will see that interest grow.”
Chester adds that the DH Sports Lounge is going a long way in bringing an awareness of soccer to the Dominguez Hills campus and adding to the excitement of having a world-class soccer stadium on campus.
“Our contribution to the growth and interest in soccer is the ability to show broadcasts of games and give our student athletes an area of interest they can call their own,” he says.
DH Sports Lounge is open during summer sessions Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and on Friday, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. For additional information, call DH Sports Lounge direct at (310) 243-2716.
