National Survey Says CSU Dominguez Hills Offers Engaging Environment for Students
Results from a survey of first-year students and seniors at California State University, Dominguez Hills indicate that the university is providing students with a supportive campus environment that is also as academically challenging and engaging as similar universities nationwide.

	CSUDH Serves: Campus Efforts to Aid Fire Victims Continue
	The CSUDH Serves program has been successful in supporting people affected by the wildfires, including William Whetstone, professor of nursing, whose home in Lake Arrowhead was destroyed. The combined efforts of the campus and its Psi Chi chapter provided a donation of $500 for the Whetstone family.

MBRS RISE Cohort Attends National Conference for Minorities in the Sciences
Eleven students from the Minority Biomedical Research Support (MBRS) - Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) program at California State University, Dominguez Hills, attended the annual conference of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) in Kansas City, Mo., in October.

Tamanika Ferguson: Alumna and Daughter Discover Africa

Tamanika Ferguson (Class of ’07, B.A., Africana studies/public administration) went
from life as a troubled streetwise teenager to a college graduate who has mentored
at-risk teen girls who went through the same experiences she did in her youth. This summer, she undertook another project that resonates with the same hope for the future: introducing her daughter Antwannet Allen – and herself – to their origins on a trip to Ghana, West Africa.
