The observance of Earth Day on April 22 at California State University, Dominguez Hills
will focus on a multicultural approach to celebrating, and ultimately saving the natural environment, with a program that includes everything from everyday green measures such as recycling and carpooling to ethnic and cultural traditions that honor the earth and nature.

Carlos Galeana says his education at California State University, Dominguez Hills has helped him mature as an individual and an artist, even in areas as seemingly unrelated as art and history. One of the senior's most recent projects has been
posters for the French American Cultural Exchange (FACE) Tournées Festival of French Films that is currently taking place on campus.

The California State University, Dominguez Hills Department of Theatre Arts will present “Lysistrata,” which will run April 18-27 in the University Theatre. The classic Greek comedy, which was originally written in 411 B.C. by Aristophanes, is an antiwar satire that tells the story of women in ancient Athens and Sparta who join together to go on strike, withholding sexual favors to their men until they agree to stop a senseless war.

California State University, Dominguez Hills has been recognized by the national Building
Engagement and Attainment for Minority Students (BEAMS) program for its ability to address issues such as retention and faculty development in a time of budget limitations and staff shortages. On March 25, the university hosted the west coast unveiling of the results of the five-year BEAMS initiative at a luncheon on March 25 in the Loker Student Union Ballroom on campus.
