CSUDH Soccer Program to Dedicate 2008 Season to Former Toro Jaret 'JT' Minami

A 2006 Cal State Dominguez Hills graduate and Toros men’s soccer player from 2002-05, Jaret Minami passed away on August 2 at Torrance Memorial Hospital at the age of 25. A standout player for head coach Joe Flanagan and the Toros, JT made 47 starts in 61 games played in his career, capping a four-year stint with 1st-team NSCAA All-Region and 2nd-team All-CCAA honors during his senior season.

Students and Faculty Explore Social Issues and Change with Urban Community Research Center

The Urban Community Research Center at California State University, Dominguez Hills is a multidisciplinary applied research center that explores urban change and social problems in the South Bay region through the work of students and faculty, providing their data and information to community-based organizations and other entities. Dr. Ricky Bluthenthal, the center's director, looks back on the first two years of the its existence and is pleased with all that has been achieved so far.

University Archives: New Acquisition Reveals More of Seminal Aviation Event on Dominguez Hill

A recent acquisition of stereoscope images from the 1910 International Los Angeles Air Meet adds to the holdings of the University Archives and Special Collections. The first aviation event of this magnitude to be held in the United States, the Air Meet brought inventors, pilots, and the curious to Los Angeles from around the world to an area near the California State University, Dominguez Hills campus. The use of the land was donated by the heirs of Manuel Dominguez, for whom the university is named.
