"For Colored Girls" Opens at CSUDH
Not “For Colored Girls” Only: Obie-Winning Play to Be Presented at CSUDH Edison Studio Theatre

The California State University, Dominguez Hills Department of Theatre Arts and the New African Grove Black Theatre will present a special summer production of “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf,” Aug. 15-17 and Sept. 5-7 in the Edison Studio Theatre on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Clergy Breakfast Brings Local Church Leaders to CSU Dominguez Hills

Today, members of the South Bay and South Los Angeles clergy visited the California State University, Dominguez Hills campus to meet President Mildred García and hear a presentation by the university’s Outreach and Information Services. The gathering was held to give local religious leaders a better understanding of CSUDH as the university of the South Bay region, to help them encourage their youth to attend college and to explore opportunities for partnerships with their organizations.

Claudia Hampton Endowed Scholarship 2008
Claudia Hampton Endowed Scholarship: Recipients Awarded in Honor of CSU Trustee, Friend of CSUDH

On Monday, three new recipients of the Claudia Hampton Endowed Scholarship met with former California State University trustee Denny Campbell, his wife, Linda, President Mildred García and representatives
of California State University, Dominguez Hills at a luncheon at Club 1910 on campus. Incoming freshmen Ashley Ingram, Kellie Johnson and Dominique Reese were awarded the scholarship for the 2008-09 academic year and will each receive $3,000 annually for the next four years.

CSUDH Tabs Scott Davenport Volleyball Head Coach

Cal State Dominguez Hills has named Scott Davenport its volleyball head coach, CSUDH Athletics Director Patrick Guillen announced this morning. Davenport, who served as the interim head coach last season, begins his fifth season with the program after starting as a Toro assistant coach in 2004.

Toros Men and Women Ranked in NSCAA Preseason Top 25 Polls

Riding the wave of success that saw the Cal State Dominguez Hills men’s soccer team capture its unprecedented 8th CCAA Championship and both men’s and women’s
teams advance to the second round of the NCAA Division II Far West Region playoffs,
each squad was ranked in the top 25 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in its respective 2008 preseason poll, making the Toros the only CCAA school with both teams included in the balloting.
