The California State University, Dominguez Hills campus is doing its part to get out the vote for the upcoming presidential and general election on Nov. 4 by getting students to register to vote, many for the first time. On Nov. 4, the Carson campus will serve as a regional polling place for the South Bay and campus community.

Angelica Ceja hopes that after completing her University 101 classes, first-time freshmen will be able to successfully navigate through their college years at California State University, Dominguez Hills. The graduate student serves as a mentor for two sections of the course, which is titled "Personal, Social and Intellectual Development" and focuses on grooming students for excellence.

The Honorable Juan Marcos Gutierrez, the Mexican consul general to Los Angeles, visited California State University, Dominguez Hills on Oct. 7 to speak to students and to participate in a panel discussion in the Loker Student Union on plans to build a mega container port in the Northern Baja California town of Punta Colonet.
