Gov. Schwarzenegger Visits CSU Dominguez Hills to Announce Partnership to Power CSUs with Solar Energy


With California State University, Dominguez Hills and its 525-kilowatt solar electric parking canopy as a backdrop, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced on Tuesday that the state has partnered with SunEdison to provide affordable solar power at 15 California State University campuses and the CSU Chancellor’s Office.

New Child Development Program Receives Head Start Grant

The Child Development Program at California State University, Dominguez Hills has been awarded the first year’s installment of a five-year renewable $1.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Family. The first year grant award is for $261,235.

Luis Alfaro: “Electricidad” Playwright Speaks to Students at CSUDH


Renowned playwright, poet, author and journalist Luis Alfaro spoke to students on Oct. 15 at the invitation of faculty members in the English and modern languages departments. The author of “Electricidad,” which is currently playing at the University Theatre until Oct. 26, Alfaro told the students about his inspiration for the play, his creative process and the influence of his Chicano heritage on his work.

UNV 101 Students Discuss the Environment
Green Team: UNV 101 Students Speak Out on the Environment

More than 250 trees were planted throughout the City of Carson on Saturday, Oct. 4, as student volunteers from California State University, Dominguez Hills teamed up with members of the local community for the Carson Tree Planting Day. Shell Oil Company, in partnership with the City of Carson and the L.A. Conservation Corps, hosted the event.
