The ongoing process of drawing up a strategic plan for the next five years at California State University, Dominguez Hills continued last week with gatherings of alumni, donors, community and business members, and elected officials. At the meetings, the guests were asked to describe where they hoped to see the institution as a “model urban university” in the next five years in regard to academic offerings, student success, connections to the community and public image.

The beautiful Dominguez Ballroom in the Loker Student Union at California State University, Dominguez Hills recently served as the backdrop for female students from local high schools to prepare for that all important milestone, the prom. On March 14, the CSU Dominguez Hills’ Women’s Resource Center, in partnership with Hawthorne- based nonprofit LA’s Prom Closet, played fairy godmother at the “Dress to Remember” event.

A recording titled “The Guitar Music of Paganini” by classical guitarist Scott Morris was reviewed in the current issue of American Record Guide as a Critic’s Choice by Kenneth Keaton. Morris, a lecturer in the music department at California State University, Dominguez Hills, has been a featured artist at many major festivals, including the Beijing Guitar Festival, the Boston Guitar Fest, and the California-based festival La Guitarra.
