Political Science Students Win Top Honors at Western Model UN Conference

The Model UN class at California State University, Dominguez Hills received top honors at WestMUN 2009 (Western Collegiate Model United Nations) conference , April 2-4, at Santa Barbara City College. Political science students Nicole Evans, Andrew Reynoso and Diana Vasquez took three of the five Best Delegate awards. Another student, Chikezie Nwafor Prince, was named a runner up for his role on the UN Security Council, and nine students were selected for consideration for WestMUN committee positions next year.

Africana Studies Students Represent CSUDH at National Black Studies Conference
CSU Dominguez Hills Represented at National Black Studies Conference

The students of the Department of Africana Studies (AFS) recently attended the 33rd Annual National Council for Black Studies conference hosted by Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, Mar. 19 – 21. Each year, a group of students along with AFS advisors attend the annual conference and give a presentation based on papers they have written after conducting research.

Students decorated tee-shirts to honor or commemorate victims of abuse and displayed them March 3-5 in the Palm Courtyard at the Loker Student Union.
