Toros Soccer Keeps HOPE Alive



The Cal State Dominguez Hills men’s and women’s soccer teams took some time out of their schedule earlier this season and headed to Mission Viejo for their annual participation in the Soccer For Hope clinic. Under warm conditions peaking at 95 degrees, the coaching staff and players split themselves into groups of three or four to conduct the clinic, which welcomed approximately 150 kids from around the area.

Photo above: The first JT Minami Memorial Scholarship was awarded to two Toros soccer players at the men's home opener on Sept. 22. The men's soccer team dedicated its winning 2008-09 season to their late teammate, who died last year at the age of 25. Minami played with the Toros from 2002 to 2005, making 1st-team NSCAA All-Region and 2nd-team All-CCAA honors during his senior season.
