Jeter Upstages Usain Bolt to Become Third Fastest Woman in the World

Usain Bolt may be the king of the track and field kingdom lately, but Toro alum Carmelita Jeter proved she had what it takes to be the queen after finishing the100-meter dash at the World Olympics Special with a time of 10.67, the third fastest time in the 100-meter in the world for a woman.

Photo above: The first JT Minami Memorial Scholarship was awarded to two Toros soccer players at the men's home opener on Sept. 22. The men's soccer team dedicated its winning 2008-09 season to their late teammate, who died last year at the age of 25. Minami played with the Toros from 2002 to 2005, making 1st-team NSCAA All-Region and 2nd-team All-CCAA honors during his senior season.
