Antonia Boadi: Preparing Computer Science Students for Careers in Homeland Security


Computer science lecturer Dr. Antonia Boadi has been awarded two grants totaling more than $1 million from the Department of Homeland Security to develop programs that prepare undergraduate and graduate students at California State University, Dominguez Hills who are majoring in science, technology, engineering or mathematics for homeland security-related careers.

Assistant professor of information systems and operations management Dr. Hamid Pourmohammadi has recently published “Green Logistics for Regional Industrial Waste Materials and Byproducts: A Closed Supply Chain Management Model.” The text outlines a reverse logistics model that is developed to minimize the environmental mpact and operational cost of converting waste and byproduct materials within a business-to-business network.

The second edition of C. Augustus (Gus) Martin’s 2008 book “Essentials of Terrorism: Concepts and Controversies” will be released next month by Sage Publications. The associate vice president of faculty affairs is the author of “Understanding Terrorism”and the forthcoming “Terrorism and Homeland Security,” to be released in July by Sage.
