“Three Sisters”: Update of Chekov Classic Directed by Actor and Alumnus Clarence Gilyard

An updated, multicultural version of Anton Chekov’s “Three Sisters” will open on the California State University, Dominguez Hills stage on April 16, directed by alumnus Clarence Gilyard (Class of '89, B.A., theatre arts), who performed the role of Zack in “A Chorus Line” in 1988 in the University Theatre. He is back on campus this semester as a guest artist in the Department of Theatre and Dance.

Spanish Author Victor Fuentes Visits CSU Dominguez Hills

As part of the “Hispanic Authors Writing in the USA: A Conversation with the Author” series presented by the Department of Modern Languages, Spanish author Victor Fuentes visited California State University, Dominguez Hills to discuss his novel “Morir en Isla Vista (To Die on Vista Island)” which Fuentes wrote under the pseudonym Floreal Hernandez.

Gilah Yelin Hirsch: Positive Energy of Art and Altruism Foster Physical Healing

Professor of art Gilah Yelin Hirsch is a participant and discussant at the 2010 Council Grove Conference of the Center for Environmental and Energy Medicine next month in Council Grove, Kan. The closed invitational conference, limited to 100 international participants, was first convened in 1969 to explore all aspects of consciousness. Within this context, popularly recognized medical implements, such as biofeedback, have been invented. Hirsch has been affiliated with the conference since 1982.
