CSU Dominguez Hills to Graduate 3,500 Students on May 21
California State University, Dominguez Hills will hold its 2010 Commencement in four different ceremonies on Friday, May 21, in the Home Depot Center Tennis Stadium on campus. An estimated 3,500 students are eligible to participate.

	Ribbon Cutting for Library Addition Celebrates 50th Anniversary of CSU Dominguez Hills
	California State University, Dominguez Hills opened a new addition to the Leo F. Cain University Library during a grand opening ceremony and reception on April 29. The day also officially marked the university’s 50th anniversary: On April 29, 1960, Gov. Edmund “Pat” Brown signed the law creating a campus for the South Bay region of Los Angeles County.

Second Annual Labor and Social Justice Fair Finds “Common Ground” For Participants

The Labor Studies Program and its student- led Labor Studies Club at California State University, Dominguez Hills presented the Second Annual Labor and Social Justice Fair, on April 28 on campus. This year’s theme, “Uniting in Times of Crisis, Finding Common Ground” brought together students and community members to learn about issues such as organizing workers, fighting homelessness, encouraging sustainability, and promoting quality education through talks, exhibits, music, and poetry.

Salim Faraji: Professor of Africana Studies Reveals Oldest Form of Christianity in Antique Nubia

Salim Faraji, assistant professor of Africana studies at California State University, Dominguez Hills, has been invited to present his research on Christianity in ancient Nubia at the 12th Annual International Conference for Nubian Studies, which will be held in August at the British Museum. One of only two nubiologists on the West Coast – the other being Dr. Stuart Tyson Smith at the University of California, Santa Barbara – Faraji will present “Africana Nubiology: Examining Classical Sudanese Traditions in West Africa” at the conference.
