Jacqueline Tejeda: Communications Graduate Looks Forward to Global Journalism Career

Interns in the Office of University Communication and Public Affairs at California State University, Dominguez Hills typically have their stories appear in Dateline, the university’s official news site. Jacqueline Tejeda, who graduates tomorrow, did one better: her coverage of the rededication of the Shinwa-En Japanese Garden on campus was reprinted in the Rafu Shimpo, the nation’s oldest and only remaining Japanese American newspaper.

Nursing Students Volunteer at Remote Area Medical


Students in the Master’s Entry-level Professional Nursing Program at California State University, Dominguez Hills recently volunteered approximately 368 hours at Remote Area Medical healthcare expedition which took place April 27 through May 3 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. Twenty-three students, who are currently doing clinical rotations at Kaiser Downey and the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Long Beach, assisted physicians and practitioners with providing free examinations and procedures in general medical, podiatry, pharmacy, and women’s health at the weeklong RAM clinic.

Student Entrepreneurs Win Second Annual Business Plan Competition

Eight students have taken top honors in a business plan competition put on by the College of Business Administration and Public Policy at California Sate University, Dominguez Hills. In its second year, the CBAPP Business Plan Competition provides CSU Dominguez Hills students with real- world experience in developing a business plan and offers winners cash prizes and invaluable advice from local business leaders to enhance their entrepreneurial skills and spirit.
