FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
California State University, Dominguez Hills changes name of School of Management to School of Business and Public Administration
Whats in a name? For the sake of accuracy and clarity, everything: Effective Monday, January 29, California State University, Dominguez Hills changed the name of its School of Management to the School of Business and Public Administration.
The new identity, requested by Donald L. Bates, dean of the School of Business and Public Administration, came after a survey of faculty and staff showed that the old name did not reflect the scope and services of the academic unit.
"The name should adequately describe our functions to our constituents," Bates said. "From our very beginning in 1972, we have been known as the School of Management. But our purpose and program are so much greater than that, and we wanted our name to reflect the range of learning opportunities we provide as well as facultys range and level of expertise.
