Carson, CA - California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), celebrates its 36th Annual Commencement Ceremony at The Forum in Inglewood.

Former Speaker of the California Assembly Antonio Villaraigosa will deliver the keynote address to the graduating class of California State University, Dominguez Hills, at The Forum in Inglewood on Friday, May 24, beginning at 10 a.m. Villaraigosa, a native of Los Angeles, is a product of the local educational system. A graduate of Roosevelt High School, UCLA and the People's College of Law, he is credited with restoring civility to a divisive State Assembly and fostering an impressive era of bipartisanship.
Villaraigosa staunchly supported education when serving in Sacramento. While building coalitions, he spearheaded a $9.2 billion school bond to rebuild and modernize California public schools, colleges and universities. Also, he supported a $2.1 billion initiative to provide parks and open space throughout California and a state health insurance program, "Healthy Families," serving 600,000 children of the working poor.
More than 18,000 spectators are expected to gather at The Forum to watch the graduating class walk across the stage to receive their certificates.
CSUDH President, Dr. James E. Lyons, Sr. and various campus dignitaries will represent the University during the ceremony. José Solache, president of the Associated Students, Inc. will serve as the student representative.
