Showcases Faculty Artists in "The World in Their Eye"
The World in Their Eye: Art Department Faculty Artists - A conversation with two faculty artists
Carson, Calif: - "The World in Their Eye: Art Department Faculty Artists," an exhibition featuring 55 works of art in varied media by 10 California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) Art Department faculty members will open on Sept. 26 in the University Art Gallery and continue through Oct. 23. Included in the exhibit are: Michele Allan, Bernard Baker, Luis Bermudez, John Goders, Gilah Yelin Hirsch, Louise H. Ivers, Jim Keville, Winston Marshall, Noreen Larinde, and Michael Wright.
Highlights will include Gilah Yelin Hirsch's paintings from her "Diamond Series," Luis Bermudez's ceramic installations based on nature, John Goders' glass and mirror assemblages, Jim Keville's brilliantly colored ceramic sculptures, and Michael Wright's digital paintings.
An opening reception for the artists will take place on Sept. 26 from 6 - 8 p.m. and a conversation with artists Gilah Yelin Hirsch and John Goders will be held in conjunction with the opening at 7 p.m. in the University Art Gallery. The exhibition and opening are co-sponsored by the CSUDH Alumni Association Inc., and the Instructionally Related Activities Committee of the Associated Students, Inc.
Admission is free to all gallery events. The gallery is open 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The campus is located at 1000 E. Victoria Street in Carson near the interchange of the Harbor, Artesia and San Diego freeways. Visitor parking permits cost $2. Tickets may be purchased at the yellow dispensing machines near the front of the parking lot on Victoria Street.
