FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

California State University, Dominguez Hills to Host
NASA Administrator's Fellowship Program Regional Awareness Days

Carson, Calif., Jan. 21 -- California State University, Dominguez Hills, together with the NASA Ames Research Center, the NASA Dryden Space Flight Center, and the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory will host the National Aeronautic and Space Administration's (NASA) Administrator's Fellowship Program Regional Awareness Days on January 22 and 23 at the Dominguez Hills campus in Carson.

The National Aeronautic and Space Administration's (NASA) Administrator's Fellowship Program (NAFP) seeks to enhance the professional development of NASA employees and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) faculty at Minority-Serving Institutions (MSI). The program's ultimate goal is to increase the capability of MSIs to respond to NASA's overall research, development and education needs.

The purpose of the Regional Awareness Days is to identify and discuss current and future opportunities that will build and sustain relationships with NASA and MSIs. The event will bring program information closer to the university audience and provide opportunities for personal communication with NASA officials and program managers.

A highlight of the event will be a roundtable discussion with college presidents and NASA officials focusing on opportunities available at NASA. Other events include professional development workshops and discussions of overviews and opportunities available at NASA Field Centers.

The events will be held at the CSU Dominguez Hills Extended Education complex. CSU Dominguez Hills Division of Extended Education offers academic, professional development and lifelong learning opportunities through degree, certificate, and credential programs and non-credit courses. For more information on Extended Education programs, call 877-GO-HILLS, or visit the Web site at www.csudh.edu/extendeded.
