Pianist Hyung-Min Lee To Perform at
California State University, Dominguez Hills
Carson, Calif: - Renowned Korean Pianist, Hyung-Min Lee, will deliver her stylistic artistic interpretations of popular composers Seung Sik Choi and Franz Liszt during a special concert at California State University, Dominguez Hills on Thursday, May 15 at 8 p.m., in the Marvin Laser Hall Recital Hall, LaCorte Hall.
Lee, who has achieved international distinction for her virtuosity on the piano, is often described as possessing brilliant technique with deep, natural music flow. Born in Seoul, Korea and educated at the Yewon Arts School and the Seoul Arts High School, Lee received her bachelor's degree in music from the Seoul National University. After her graduation, she moved to the United States and has begun to establish herself as a rising star in her field. She has received awards from various national piano competitions.
Lee has appeared in solo and chamber music performances in Korea, Austria, Poland, Germany France, Czechoslovakia, the United Kingdom and the United States. She has performed with several orchestras including the Vienna Symphony, the Polish National Radio Symphony, the Czech Chamber Orchestra, the Abilene Philharmonic, the Seoul Symphony and many others.
Hyung-Min Lee recorded a compact disc of Mozart's Piano Concerto in A major with the Poland National Radio Symphony in 1997. Most recently, she appeared in the Korean Artist Series broadcast on Korean National Radio in 2000.
Lee is currently
a visiting professor at the School of the Arts, Dankook University of Korea.
She is also scheduled to perform works by Robert Schumann and Claude Debussy
during her concert. Lee will repeat this concert at Carnegie Hall in New York
on May 18.
