State Dominguez Hills Alums Invited to “Come Home”
Carson, CA – California State University, Dominguez Hills invites all
its alumni to a “Come Home” for Homecoming event on Oct. 14-16,
a two-day celebration.
“Jazz Night” kicks off the event on Thursday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m.
It will be held at the Stadium Club of the Home Depot Center, located on the
CSUDH campus. Alumni will enjoy VIP seating
CSUDH Toro Soccer highlights Friday’s schedule, Oct. 15, as both the
men’s and women’s soccer teams compete against San Francisco State.
The Men’s Soccer team will play at 1:30 p.m. followed by the Women’s
Soccer game at 4 p.m. Both games’ halftime activities will recognize
alumni in attendance. Also, the Los Angeles Clippers Fan Patrol will entertain
during the men’s game halftime. Following the games, Friday’s events
continue with an Alumni Reception at 6:30 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the Loker
University Student Union. In the evening, alumni will have special seating
at the 8 p.m. opening-night production of “Blues for an Alabama Sky,” the
first production of the season by the CSUDH Theater Arts Black Theater Program
presented in the University Theatre.
On Saturday, Oct. 16, alumni have two event choices. The day begins
with a 10 a.m. – noon registration at the campus Sculpture Garden, adjacent
to LaCorte Hall. Although the registration covers a two-hour period, for those
alums choosing a “5 on 5 Soccer Tournament,” they will need to
be on board for a 10 a.m. starting time. At least one team of alumni - athletes
while at CSUDH - is scheduled to participate in the tournament. Also, alums
can register for campus tours, to be held from 10 a.m. to noon. The tours are
for those who have not recently visited campus and its surroundings.
Saturday afternoon, from 1 – 4 p.m., the “Alumni, Come Home” Family
Barbecue will take place in the CSUDH Sculpture Garden Alumni will have a chance
to visit with the University and Alumni Association presidents, as well as
the deans from all of the colleges and learn about the changes taking place
at the University. Also, there will be good food, children’s entertainment,
and prizes.
Concluding “Come Home” at 2:30 p.m., the new location of the Alumni
Brick Courtyard will be dedicated.
