CSUDH Annual Student Art Exhibition To Open in University Art Gallery

WHO: 2005 Bachelor of Arts graduates from the CSU Dominguez Hills Art Department

WHAT: An exhibit of the wide range of student art created by art majors at CSUDH, all members of the Class of ’05. At the exhibition’s opening reception, set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 12, the City of Carson Fine Arts Commission will present an award to this year’s “Artist of the Year,” selected by faculty advisors and awarded to the best work in the exhibit. Members of the public are invited to attend the reception.

CSUDH Professor of Art Bernard Baker described the importance of the exhibition, “The exhibition lets the students know their work is important and worthy of displaying to the community. The students also gain valuable practical experience from the process of preparing for the exhibit.”

WHEN: Opening reception: Thursday, May 12 – 6 – 8 p.m. Exhibit runs to May 19.
The University Gallery is open Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CSU Dominguez Hills is located near the junction of the Harbor, Artesia and San Diego freeways.

Visitor parking permits may be purchased for $2.50 from the yellow dispensing machines at the front of each campus lot.
