Student Artists to Display Original Work
Representatives from the Carson Fine Arts Commission will present an award to the student “Artist of the Year” during the exhibition reception on May 13, at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend the reception. Each graduating student is required to display five works produced at CSUDH as part of their art department curriculum. Bernard Baker, CSUDH professor of art, reminds the student artists their work should be viewed as being just as important as established professionals. “The exhibition lets the students know their work is important and worthy of displaying to the community,” Baker said. “The students also gain valuable practical experience from the process of preparing for the exhibit.” The University Art Gallery
is open Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. – 4
p.m. CSU Dominguez Hills is located near the interchange between the Harbor,
Artesia and San Diego freeways. Visitor parking permits may be purchased
for $2 from the yellow dispensing machines at the front of each campus lot.
