Two-day Homecoming Celebration Planned
for CSUDH Alums
CARSON, Ca. – A two-day Homecoming 2005 celebration is planned
for CSU Dominguez Hills alumni Oct. 7 and 8. The Alumni Come Home
event will include Toros soccer games in the Home Depot Center,
a reception at the Radisson Hotel at the Los Angeles International
Airport and a family barbecue on the Dominguez Hills campus.
First up, on Oct. 7, will be the reigning California Collegiate
Athletic Association champions, the Toros Women’s Soccer
Team, taking the field against the Cal State Chico Wildcats women’s
team on Friday, Oct. 7. The ball will be dropped at 12:30 p.m.
Then, at 3 p.m., the Toros men face off against the Wildcats men.
The Toros Men’s Soccer Team this year is ranked No. 15 in
the preseason NSCAA/Adidas Poll.
Soccer tickets are $5.
At 5:30 p.m., the President’s VIP Reception begins in the
Penthouse Skybox Room at the Radisson. The reception includes opportunities
to meet CSUDH President James Lyons Sr. and
CSUDH Alumni Association President Marlene Boyden-Boykin. There is no charge to attend the
reception, but reservations are required. The Radisson is at 6225
West Century Boulevard, Los Angeles.
Saturday, Oct. 8, is family day, when the annual Alumni Homecoming
Barbecue will be held in the Sculpture Garden on the campus.
There will be food, music, prizes and children’s entertainment.
The barbecue starts at noon.
Cost for the barbecue is $22 for adults, $12 for children age
10 and younger.

(310) 243-2237. Visa and MasterCard are accepted. The deadline
for reservations is Oct. 3.
CSUDH alumni who wish to stay at the Radisson during the Alumni,
Come Home weekend are offered a special rate of $99 by the Radisson.
