Port of L.A.’s Contracts
Being Put Together with CSUDH Alumni Who HaveBusinesses and
Skills to Offer at Business Opportunity Expo
Needs for skills and contractors at the Port
of Los Angeles will be put together with the skills and
businesses of California State University, Dominguez
Hills alumni at a special Business Opportunity Expo Tuesday,
Nov. 1, at Dominguez Hills.
The Port, hungry for more diversity, is working
with the university, one of the most diverse in the western
United States, to acquire individuals, small businesses
and women-owned businesses that offer such skills and
services as public relations, construction, human resources
and many others. The Port will be represented by such
Los Angeles City agencies as Homeland Security, Human
Resources, Port Police, and the Harbor Department.
In addition, a number of companies will be at
the Expo, contracts in hand, including Parsons Corporation,
Steton Construction, CH2MHILL, Inc., Ocean Blue Environmental
Services, Project Control Consulting Inc., and Katherine
Padilla & Associates.
Among the areas of interest are environmental
services, environmental site assessment, engineering
and design, project management, community outreach, and
construction and engineering.
CSUDH Alumni should be in business attire and
bring resumes and any relevant business information.
The Expo will run from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Extended
Education Building. Dominguez Hills is located at 1000
E. Victoria St., Carson, CA 90747, east of Avalon Boulevard
between the 91 and 405 freeways. The Extended Education
Building is adjacent to Parking Lot 3, which is off Tamcliff
Street/Toro Center Drive.
