CSUDH Jazz Musicians to Turn It Loose at Jazz Bakery May 7
Carson, CA— CSU Dominguez Hills Jubilee and Jazz students and alumni will bring their brand of jazz to The Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 7, starting at 4 p.m. It is not only a chance for the musicians to strut their stuff and entertain jazz-lovers, but it will benefit the Jubilee and Jazz Scholarship Program at CSUDH.
The Jazz Bakery is at 3233 Helms Avenue, between Venice and Washington boulevards. Tickets are $20 general admission, $10 for students.
For tickets and more information about the May 7 jazz performance, call The Jazz Bakery at (310) 271-9039.
Donations, which are eligible as tax-deductions, are also being accepted for the Jubilee and Jazz Scholarship Program. Checks should be made to CSU Dominguez Hills Foundation. For more information, call Dawn Mathieu at (562) 235-0967,
Nalis Mercier at (323) 418-0984, or Danellen Joseph at (323) 737-0137.
Those who donate $500 or more will receive a copy of Music Professor
Hansonia Caldwell’s book African American Music-Spirituals. Caldwell is the conductor of the Jubilee Choir, and her Hansonia Caldwell Special Collection is part of the university’s National Endowment for the Humanities-supported African Diaspora Sacred Music and Musicians collection, which is available to researchers.
