Carson-Dominguez Hills Symphony Season: From Tchaikovsky to Pops
Carson, CA—A Veteran’s Day salute, classical music from Russian composers and a Family Pops Concert
are on the show bill of the Carson-Dominguez Hills Symphony Orchestra for the 2006-2007 season.
All concerts are free and are held in the 450-seat University Theatre at California State University,
Dominguez Hills. All of the concerts start at 8 p.m.
On the schedule are:
• November 11: A Veteran’s Day Salute: “Fanfare for the Common Man,” by Copland.
• February 10: “From Russia with Love,” featuring Stephen Moore on the piano. The program includes
a Tchaikovsky symphony and Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini”
• March 17: Family Pops Concert, “Tubby the Tuba,” featuring Joseph Jackson on tuba, winners of
the Carson Young Artist Soloist Competition (who will be selected in December), and the Filipinas Chorus.
The University Theatre is across from parking lots 3 and 6, accessible from the Tamcliff Avenue-Toro Center
drive entrance from East Victoria Street. The campus is at 1000 East Victoria Street, on the east side of
Avalon Boulevard between the Gardena Freeway (91) and San Diego Freeway (405).
