CSU Dominguez Hills is turning “Green”
Carson Tree Planting Day Oct. 4
(Carson, CA) — On
Saturday, Oct. 4, California State University, Dominguez Hills
will add a
new color to its traditional burgundy and gold attire – green – by
joining volunteers throughout the community for the Carson Tree
Planting Day.
Shell Oil Company, in partnership with
the City of Carson and the LA Conservation Corps, is hosting
the event, which will begin
at 8 a.m. at Carson Park, 21411 Orrick Ave.. From 9 to 11 a.m.
volunteers will plant more than 250 trees throughout the city.
Among those volunteering will be the CSU Dominguez Hills Toro Green
Team of students, faculty and staff, lead by the university’s
Center for Service Learning, Internships & Engagement (SLICE)
and Office of Government and Community Relations.
“CSU Dominguez Hills is committed to helping preserve the
environment and giving back to this community,” said David
Gamboa, director of Government and Community Relations. “We
are happy to take part in this important endeavor.”
