in Multicultural Dance Concert
WHAT: Informal Fall Dance Concert
WHEN: Tuesday, Dec. 9, 8 p.m.
WHERE: University Theatre

(Carson, CA) – California State University, Dominguez Hills and the Department of Theatre and Dance is pleased to present the 2008 Informal Fall Dance Concert at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the University Theatre.
Featuring more than 50 dancers performing in a range of styles – from African and Middle Eastern dance to hip hop, from ballet to salsa – the concert promises to be a truly multicultural evening.
The depth of talent in the dance program will be on display in both the performers on stage and the choreography of their movement. Student choreographers who have created dances for the concert include Delilah Allen, Jenny Banuelos, Sonia Bawa, Lynnea Brown, Shantell Greenaway, Manuela Guerrero, Maggie Hawkins, Nicole Hill, Kamiko Johnson, Sinisha Kostich, Rebecca Ledesma, Leah Lugo, Jeannette Nailor and LaToya Washington
The concert will also feature works by faculty, all of whom are professional choreographers. In two performances, Michelle Funderburk will liven up the stage with jazz moves and African dance; Elissa Kyriacou will present a sensuous gift of Middle Eastern dance; new faulty Dana Maue will take the stage with her rhythmic hip hop and tap, and a special tango performance; and Doris Ressl will present excerpts from “The Nutcracker” ballet to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
The University Theatre is located off Toro Center Drive adjacent to Parking Lot 6 on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hill, 1000 E. Victoria Street in Carson. A map of the campus is available online at www.csudh.edu/site/VisitUs/campusmap.shtml.
