CSU Dominguez Hills Announces New Vice President for University Advancement

(Carson, CA) – Mildred García, president of California State University, Dominguez Hills, has announced the selection of Greg Saks as the university’s new vice president for university advancement. Saks had served as the interim vice president since September 2007.

Saks started at CSU Dominguez Hills in April of 2006 as the associate vice president of development. Under his leadership, the university has established a strong base for support, with a 77 percent increase in new philanthropic giving, a 76 percent increase in total donors and a 100 percent increase in alumni donors, and has heightened its presence in nearby communities in the South Bay.

The division of University Advancement advances the academic mission of CSU Dominguez Hills through community engagement and philanthropic support. Within the division are the offices of Alumni Relations, Development, University Communications and Public Affairs, Government and Community Relations, and University Ceremonies and Events.

Prior to CSU Dominguez Hills, Saks was the executive director of development and director of alumni and parent relations at Pitzer College. He also previously held various positions at Cal Poly Pomona and Baylor University.

A southern California native, Saks graduated from CSU San Bernardino with a degree in history and received his master’s degree in higher education administration from Miami University of Ohio. He lives in Seal Beach with his wife and two children.
