CSU Dominguez Hills MPA Program Receives Full Accreditation
(Carson, CA) – The Master of Public Administration degree at California State University, Dominguez Hills has been re-accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA) for seven years, the maximum number of years allowed.
The NASPAA team conducted its site visit earlier this year and in its final accreditation report commended the program for its high quality of instruction and the faculty’s accessibility to advising and mentoring. Also noted was the commitment of “passionate stakeholders,” from current students to the College of Business Administration and Public Policy Advisory Board made up of local businesspeople, many of whom are alumni.
“NASPAA re-accreditation reflects the high quality of the program and is a testament to the good work of the faculty and the able leadership of Dr. Iris Baxter,” said college dean James Strong, referring to the associate professor and former MPA coordinator. “NASPAA accreditation significantly helps CSUDH MPA students and is point of pride for the university.”
CSU Dominguez Hills has been offering a master’s in public administration since 1975. The program emphasizes preparing students to become effective public managers in a wide range of public service areas across government and the non-profit sectors. Designed for flexibility, classes are offered to full or part-time students in the evenings in a traditional on campus setting, or wholly online.
