In Fall 2002, President Lyon's appointed the WASC Self Study Co-Chairs and invited participation of members of the campus learning community on the WASC Self Study Steering committee.
The
initial task of the Chairs was to engage the campus in conversations
related to previous recommendations derived from past self-study research
and evaluations. As a result, of numerous town hall meetings and discussions
a consensus developed around the importance of the issues of Academic
Quality, Campus Change, Diversity and Civic Engagement. We view these
four topics as the core issues of our self-study.
The CSUDH Self Study Institutional Proposal is the result of these efforts. It serves as an outline of the important research we are doing to improve our understanding our core issues and to develop strategies to assist the members of our community in improving their successful outcomes as learners and researchers.
